Evening Stages

Refurbed Red Lion set to kick festival off.

Staycation Live Festival is not just restricted to Phillips Memorial Park for the weekend, there are a whole host of different events happening in venues all over town during the weekend. Once again the Red Lion will be acting as Staycation central by hosting both launch and after party on the Friday the 4th and Sunday the 6th respectively with firm favourites Spotlight Cannibal kicking the festival off in style on the Friday with a little help from the TST Live DJ’s.

The newly refurbished Red Lion has been transformed in recent weeks and they have one of the finest selection of beers in the town (we’ve sampled quite a few of them) and along with the spanking new decor and landscaped outdoor area the venue has never felt fresher. Saturday night is being kept on the down low currently but expect to see an announcement very soon on the Saturday nights entertainment but with so many requests for last years headliner Frank the Cat to play this year, they will be bringing the festival to a close for the Red Lion Staycation after party on the Sunday evening featuring DJ support from the one and only Johnny H from Kane FM. Sure to be a night of smooth grooves and Soul, perfect for a Sunday wind down.

Evening Stages Line-up

This year we’ve got more going on outside of the park than ever! Check out the following to see what’s on, and where, from Friday night through to Sunday.

Opening Party – The Red Lion

8pm – Late
Our opening party sees the Emanuele Fizzotti Blues Trio doing their best to get everyone on the opening night jumping. We don’t think it will take too much!

The Red Lion

8pm – Late
Gentleman Tim and The Contenders band are deeply rooted in early 50’s style Swing, West Coast and Chicago Blues and deliver high energy authentic Rhythm & Blues.

The Star

8pm – Late
One of our favourite pubs will have some of our favourite musicians running an open mic/jam session, so get down early to find yourself a spot and a slot!

The Lounge

8pm – 2:30am
Kane FM return to the Lounge with some of the DJs that smashed the place a couple of years ago. They’ll be keeping the place jumping until the early hours.

8pm – 1:30am
The evening’s split at Staycation Live newcomer, Corretto. From 8pm we have some local folk rock from Coyote, and then the Trust No One boys will be playing funk, soul and house until late.

The Richmond

Nick and Rob, who first played in bands together when they were still at school, formed The Bluescasters in 2014 over forty years later to share their desire to play the blues once again!

The Wharf

Jessebelle’s Jewels return to the Wharf for something cheeky! You can enjoy one of the venue’s amazing currys while feasting your eyes and your ears on some amazing cabaret and Burlesque.

Reggae All Dayer and Closing Party – The Red Lion

One of our favourite selectors and his crew will be keeping the bass pumping and the vibes blessed at the Red Lion on Sunday. Tufty G and the Late Night Blues Show will be keeping it irie and close off the festival with the help of our friends, Soundation!

Kane FM return to the Lounge for Staycation Live

Kane FM bring the noise back to the Lounge for another stoming evening event. Featuring the cream of Boot Records, Boom & Bass and more, the windows will be shaking until late with DJs on all evening. If you’ve made it to a Kane evening event for Staycation Live before, you’ll know that this isn’t to be missed!
